These Prisoner Chimpanzees Feel The Grass For The First Time In 30 Years

These chimpanzees are filmed stepping into the sunlight. Uncertainty fills the air and you can see a visible apprehension in their faces. For the first time in 30 years, they are about to be released into a sanctuary.

Some of these chimpanzees were born in captivity and some were kidnapped from the jungles of Africa as babies and flown to Europe. And then, they were promptly locked up in cages and used as laboratory chimpanzees for testing.

And when they stepped out into the sun and felt the grass underneath their feet, their expressions transitioned from pure fear to joy!
